Tim shifted his weight, his knees groaning against the grit as he leaned over Conner’s shoulder to look at the chewed bubblegum of his spine.
The mutation had stopped its lateral spread, but it had grown deep. Along the base of Conner’s neck, the skin had parted like a wet bag of rice, and three massive, irregular pillars of gray calcium had driven their way out through the muscle. They were jagged, coral-like growths that looked like they had been gnawed out of stone. The largest one— the size of a standard tent peg— was angling sharply to the left, its blunt, heavy head catching the edge of Conner’s scapula every time his chest expanded with a breath.
"Puppy," Tim said, his voice slipping into that sweet frequency that belonged only to the two of them, the tone that meant the capes were off and the world was small enough to fit into a single breath. "Look at me. Open an eye."

After a failed attempt at living in Kansas, Kon-El is living alone in the Justice Cave with only a mattress and twenty cents to his name. That's completely fine in his books, and handouts from Robin are not appreciated in the slightest.
Thankfully for a concerned Robin, Tim Drake has plenty of money to help fund the young superhero in a completely innocent, platonic manner. He just needed to capture Superboy's attention for long enough to load him up with cash before the Kryptonian inevitably got bored.
It does not stay innocent or platonic for long, and Kon is far more interested than Tim could have imagined.

Bruce started his daily routine. It’s going to be a busy day. He was not in the headspace to play Bruce Wayne. To smile, comment, and care…and to lie. All he did was lie. It was for the greater good. It kept his loved ones safe and Gotham. Just lately. All this deception was getting to him.
Clark’s words. He truths and unyielding trust in him. He deserved better, but at the same time, no one deserved him. The pain he caused was different. Bruce shuddered at the thought of Clark falling for someone else. He may be bulletproof, but that doesn't make him any less exploitable. He cares too much. He trusts too much. He loves too much.
Why did he have to be like this? Why did he love him of all people?
