Unbeknownst to Eddie and Ravi, a similar conversation was happening fifteen minutes away.
May had shown up at her older-brother-figure’s house after wiping her makeup off and changing into more comfortable clothes. The cozy sweater and worn-in jeans felt like armor against the nerves still fluttering in her chest. It had been a spur of the moment decision, both bidding on Ravi and ending up at Buck's after the date.
She had told her mother, when she bid the 300 dollars on Ravi, it was to 'get the ball rolling', which was weird to her because Ravi was attractive

The good thing and bad thing about Buck's loft is that it provided natural light, so Eddie could see how the bruising was looking.
"Who did this to you?" He was trying to keep the anger out of his voice as he gently let go of Buck's face, who ducked it down as soon as it was free.
"Chimney." He mumbled, cheeks heating up, whether from embarrassment or anger, Eddie couldn't tell. It left him a little off-balance, like he’d been caught reacting before he’d had time to think it through.

Buck lifted his head to look at him, confusion swimming in his eyes
"I know you Buck, and I know that it's been eating at you ever since you left."
"You're not going to tell me I'm overreacting?"
Eddie gave him a reassuring smile. "Well, maybe you could've come at it with a different approach, but if that's how they made you feel, you had every right to yell at them and say your piece. Just do me a favor? Don't let your friend drag you to a junkyard fight, it won't end well."

“I can’t believe this.” A voice Eddie recognizes all too well. He turns around and there he sees her, still in that yellow floral dress. “I carried that child in me for 9 months, only to have him grow up looking like your seven year situationship?!”
Eddie blanks. He doesn’t know what she means by “seven year situationship”, but he does know that she’s talking about Chris, with his curls that could rival Buck’s and…oh. That’s what she means.
