All the things that happened after Maddie left college and were kept from her because they would be too upsetting or distracting. All the things that happened behind closed doors in the Kendall house. This had clearly just set the precedent.

Summary
Because the fancy dates and big moments are great, of course, but it’s the simple things too. It’s the fact that they always laugh while they’re doing laundry together, and the way Eddie lets him sneak snacks into the shopping cart if Buck kisses his cheek first, and how they hold hands while they’re driving.
It’s just every little thing about their life, that makes loving each other so special.

Summary
The sprinklers were beginning to drown out the roar of flame, but their deluge was just a replacement. A hollow victory when each corner didn’t reveal Eddie's teammate.
And then he heard it. The groan of metal. And a hoarse, agonized, drawn-out yell.
It was unmistakably Buck.
All four of them moved into a sprint at once.
