“I said,” Merlin enunciates, rolling his eyes. He gets a knee over Arthur’s thigh, pressing it into the mattress and fixing the perch of his glasses. “What’s wrong with my glasses?”
Arthur gapes at him, before dropping onto his pillow with a sigh as he stares up at the ceiling. What has this night come to? He was supposed to go over his report and then sleep. And then came Merlin, complaining about the fucking water pressure, dripping wet and smelling like that with his low slung pyjamas and utter lack of respect for Arthur’s sanity, taking over his mind and night. Arthur can’t have one second of peace.

Arthur notices Merlin smells nice. He then can’t stop noticing and nearly loses his mind about it.

Gwaine stares at Lancelot. Lancelot stares back, thinning his lips. Gwaine tilts his head and squints slightly, trying to understand the joke. Lancelot’s eyebrows furrow and he grimaces, disproportionally upset. Gwaine’s eyes slowly widen.
He opens his mouth to speak but Lancelot interrupts, “Yes, King Arthur is one of the affected men.”
Gwaine shuts his mouth and nods, probably doing a horrible job of concealing his amusement.

Summary
Unsatisfied with his current life, Merlin takes a sabbatical from work and explores the British coastline to clear his head of life's mundaneness. On his return from Cornwall, he comes across a young blonde girl attempting to hitch-hike along the motorway. Fearing for her safety, Merlin offers her a ride home.
Upon entering the small town of Cam-Lott, Merlin makes a lasting impression on Police Chief Arthur Pendranyl and starts a chain of events that have him seeing the inside of a jail cell more often than not. When he isn't being an errand-boy or stumbling upon strange trinkets in forest caves, Merlin slots into the small town life with ease. Between summer faire's, camping trips and hiking, Merlin almost forgets that no one in the town -except one -has left the towns perimeter.
Why has no one left? Why are his memories feeling hazier by the day? And why, oh why, is there a sword buried in a stone?

Summary
The Ealdor Public Library, where Merlin works as a librarian, is struggling amidst budget cuts and declining patron visits. As a last ditch effort, Library Manager Gaius calls in a favour from his friend Uther Pendragon, CEO of Camelot's top consulting firm, The Pendragon Group.
Uther sends his son Arthur to lead the project in Ealdor and work closely with Merlin. The two have a rocky start, but as they spend more time together they come to understand that they might just be perfect for each other after all.
---“I’m taking these sweatpants,” Merlin declared, admiring himself in the standing mirror in Arthur’s bedroom. Arthur stepped up behind him, hands resting on Merlin’s hips, and pressed a kiss behind Merlin’s ear that sent a shiver down Merlin’s body.
He can take and keep whatever he wants, Arthur thought, watching the two of them in the mirror, perfectly slotted together. He’s already taken my heart.

Summary
Everyone had their secrets, Arthur understood this more than others. To the majority of his kingdom, the truth of his very existence was a secret. While the people can only speculate and ponder amongst themselves about the King's private life, Merlin didn't have to.
He knew everything.
But it appeared that Arthur's trust was purely his own. There was next to nothing on the other side, as he'd soon come to realize. Merlin, with how honest and noble he appeared to be—if not by blood—had failed to share the most basic detail about himself.
That he'd been... Courted. Of all things. By a knight, no less.

Summary
While Merlin knew Camelot was one of the worst kingdoms to be a magic user, he couldn’t refuse his mother. But Merlin was a clumsy idiot.
So, after a horrible day where he fought the prince, met a dragon and finally was caught using magic to save the life of his uncle, Merlin found himself in the pyre. On his first day.
But another thing about Camelot was also true.
This other tradition was almost a joke. The foot-of-the-gallows marriage.
When presented, it was carried out until the end, treated as something serious. The man being executed would be saved by marrying the woman who asked for his hand even before he could descend from the gallows. His crimes would be pardoned as long as he continued to be married to her, and they would have the opportunity to begin a new life in a blank slate.
But it has never occurred when the crime was considered serious, so no one had to put the tradition in a balance against the law.
So, when the executioner lit the torch and the prince shouted, “Stop the execution! I’ll marry him.” no one knew what to do.

Summary
Arthur and Merlin are forced to take shelter at a beautiful diverse inn together during a very bad and sudden snowstorm on the way back to Camelot from an expedition. As the days of them being confined together drag on, Arthur learns there is more to Merlin that meets the eye, and Merlin learns that Arthur isn’t a total arrogant selfish prince. But, Arthur starts to notice even the small things about Merlin that make his chest flush with heat; his smile, his pale skin, his perfect lips, his beautiful laugh, etc., causing uneasy and unwanted feelings to bubble to the surface of Arthur’s mind. It’s all up to Arthur to figure out how far he’s willing to go with his admitted feelings.

"Merlin, it's for you!"
Spell-Arthur has no notion of personal space. Scratch that. Spell-Arthur only exists in Merlin's personal space. He is always standing as close as possible to him, burning Merlin's cheeks and speeding his heartbeat. Maybe it's comforting for him. But for Merlin, it has been nothing but... Challenging. Right now, Arthur's nose is almost touching his cheek and his whole body is close enough so that Merlin can sense the heat radiating from it. He gulps, looking down at the wooden stick he holds out to him. Merlin takes it cautiously, breath hitching when he answers:
"Thank you."
"D'you like it?"
Merlin doesn't know what to say, dizzy because of Arthur's proximity so he just nods. Arthur beams at him.
"Going to find another one!"--
