Steve’s hand fisted his shirt in an attempt to abort Eddie’s movements. Tilting his head back, he shot a panicked look at Eddie, hissing, “We can’t. Not here.”

Steve froze in Eddie’s grasp, making him chuckle darkly. At Steve’s silence, Eddie leaned in, nipping at his ear before whispering hotly, “That’s what I thought. Turn around and enjoy the show.”

Eddie’s voice breaks through the noise in Steve’s brain, and he turns to face his friend. Upon seeing his costume, however, he stops dead in his tracks.
Tilting his head to the side, Eddie smirks at him, brushing his thumb lightly over Steve’s slack jaw. He snaps his mouth closed but still can’t seem to move, to speak, to even breathe, and Eddie’s laugh is devilish when he murmurs softly, “What’s wrong, Steve? Cat got your tongue?”
“I’m… You’re…” Steve clears his throat roughly, surprised at the gravel there. He takes a quick swig of his beer before finally spitting out, “What the absolute fuck are you supposed to be?”

The more that I think about it, the more I believe in the small possibility that my unfertilized eggs may be safe for Grace to consume. It’s at least worth trying, I resolve, as I watch him cry himself to sleep for the fourth consecutive cycle. His stomach is constricting, growling loudly. He’s been unable to keep the coma slurry from resurfacing once again.
I can detect his body shutting down. I decide I can't allow this to continue. I won't allow myself to sit by and watch idly as he dies in front of me, like so many others have before him.
Unfortunately, there is only one method that I can use to procure Eridian eggs for Grace's consumption.

“Yeah I dunno, I was maybe busy getting laid or something.” Steve smiles, picking something light-heartedly inflammatory just to get a rise out of Eddie, but his voice trails off into a mumble towards the end; he’s fighting hard not to get caught up on the way Eddie’s idly flicking the plastic spinner around and around as they talk.OR

Steve makes a face at Eddie. “You've imagined doing stuff with a guy?”
“Yeah, man,” Eddie replies, spreading his hands wide. “Doesn't everyone?”
Steve tilts his head to the side as he thinks. Maybe not very often, but his freshman year when Davey Riggs had been swim team captain? Yeah, he had definitely imagined some stuff that had made trips to the locker room kinda awkward.
“Yeah, that's true,” Steve answers, nodding. “I wonder why everybody acts like it's so gross, though.”
In the summer of 1986, Steve and Eddie have some perfectly normal fun between a couple of perfectly normal dudes.
