Summary
When the dust settles after the battle, the losses are reckoned. In this case, one of the losses is discovered far too late. It leads to the beginning of another battle for life.
Or, the bard, who should have written this ballad, is currently going through all the stages of dying. The sorceress, who was usually in charge of saving him, has not yet fully regained her power. The emotionless witcher is useless, drowning himself in feelings. Only the old mentor keeps his head cool and comes up with an idea that gives all of them one last glimmer of hope.

Summary
Folk tales always carry out messages. They are created as a warning, to transfer knowledge from generation to generation or to spread hope among those in misery. They are all similar and schematic. However, sometimes some truly unique ones develop out of trival events. Like the ones where the Story Teller turns out to be the Main Character, hiding his identity for the most part of the tale and hurting himself in the process. Jaskier would know a thing or two about it, just ask him.

Summary
The battle with Voleth Meir made Jaskier realize a few things. Namely, that there are some powerful bounds binding family members and that forcing his way between them would only hurt him further. Moving away to his own devices seemed to be the only way to keep his poor heart beating. Unfortunately, a city guards and a man in a black hood at the gallows disagreed. And there was no witcher around to talk some sense into them.

Summary
Odmieniec [pol.] - a person who looks or behaves differently from other people; in Polish folk also a child of a demon or tutelary spirit tossed in the place of a stolen baby; a type of changeling.
Geralt, Ciri and Yennefer make it to the safety of Kaer Morhen. It would seem the witcher can finally relax a little bit, but the nagging feeling at the pit of his stomach is still present. When Geralt realizes what causes his restlessness, he sets of to a long journey. The journey that will change into a rescue mission, reveal some truths and force the witcher to reflect on his feelings. All of that possibly with a happy ending. Although, it's hard for Geralt to believe in that.

Summary
Contrary to popular belief, Witchers weren't heartless monsters. They still had their emotions, no matter how hard rumors tried to say otherwise. They were muted, yes, but were very much still there. They still felt joy, anger, hope, frustration, guilt.
Geralt had been feeling quite a lot of guilt as of late.or

Summary
Geralt is relieved to finally have all of his family around him, despite having just lost five of his brothers at the hands of The Deathless Mother. For the time being, they are all safe within the walls of Kaer Morhen but for how long? The Wild Hunt want Ciri for their own and Geralt knows that they will have to move on soon and keep moving. Things within the keep are not quite as they should be however, and Geralt is too preoccupied with his Child Surprise to notice.
Note: Characters are tagged in order of appearance, not story time. I may get around to bringing Geralt up the ranks eventually but I haven't even rearranged the tags on Part One yet, so don't hold your breath!
For anyone who hasn't read Part One first, why not?
Anyhoo, I'll put the link to the Spotify playlist in the notes once again. Enjoy! x

Summary
He plays his role, now. He’s learned his lesson and he plays the role they all expect him to play. Silly bard. Ridiculous poet. Jester, and troubadour; the rousing laughingstock. A worthless joke.
He’s silly and he’s outrageous and he never cries, never, never cries, because crying isn’t part of the role he’s supposed to play. He doesn’t wake gasping for air he can’t find, doesn’t bite his fist to keep the pathetic sounds inside, doesn’t scream until he can’t scream any more, all the pent up angerandfearandrageandterrorandohgodspleasejustmakeitallstoppleasepleasepleasepleaseplease coming up and out. He doesn’t, because that’s not the role he plays. Can’t. Be the role he plays.
Because he’s the pawn. The lackey. The disposable piece that will one day be used up and discarded like the trash he was, is, and always will be.
Or:
After everything that's happened over the past several years, Jaskier finds himself going through the motions of life, longing for death. No one notices that he's just playing at being the grandiose bard he once was, a shadow of his former self. After all, why would they?
He's just a pawn.

Summary
Geralt’s shoulders were stiff, and his grip on Jaskier’s wrist was like a vise. Between them, the bite mark on Jaskier’s forearm still oozed blood. Just a tiny little puncture. He’d gotten worse from stepping on a sharp rock in camp just last week. The dead fox lay three paces off, its head facing away. From this angle Jaskier couldn’t see whether or not he’d imagined the foam at its mouth.
Geralt still wouldn’t look at him.
“Don’t say it,” Jaskier begged one last time.
“It was rabid,” said Geralt flatly.
---
At long last, Jaskier's luck runs out, and he acquires a mortal wound. It's lucky for him, then, that Geralt is far too selfish to let him die.

Summary
Geralt was standing wrong. He was hunched. Touching the tree--not leaning on it, just touching it lightly. He seemed...tentative. That was it. That was the word. And that word hung very strangely on Geralt.
"What's wrong?" Jaskier asked, because something was wrong.
---
Basalisk venom leaves Geralt blind. Jaskier finds their relationship changing as he cares for a suddenly vulnerable Witcher.
