    Summary

prompt: post S1. Jaskier is drunk and after a performance ends up in bed with a stranger that looks a little too much like Geralt.

    - - -

Of course, he had to try and pick up the most straight look-a-like of Geralt of Rivia in the whole universe.
“You’re staring,” the stranger tells him, and damn it, if his voice doesn’t sound exactly like Geralt’s.
“Yeah, well, there’s a sight,” Jaskier swallows and licks his lips. The stranger seems to ponder and looks at him with those almost golden eyes that try to pierce through his soul.

    Summary

Geralt’s options are limited: he can wait for the toxins to diffuse on their own, which means either enduring the drop or passing out, or he can use White Honey, which has been in short supply this season. The vial in his pack has one, maybe two doses remaining.

Jaskier steps closer, edging around the fire. “Will you let me help?”

There is one other possibility. Geralt can’t bring himself to be the one to ask first. But when Jaskier offers…

    Please.”

    Summary

Jaskier is a bard. Bards need a voice. With no voice, they cannot sing, cannot spin tales with their melodies and ballads. But Jaskier, he has no voice. Not without his Witcher.

An AU where Jaskier loses his voice due to a curse Geralt accidentally sprung on him when they parted ways after the dragon hunt. Geralt almost forgets about Jaskier until he began hearing about how the bard lost his voice; however, the White Wolf believed time and time again that these rumors are retelling of the djinn accident. Oh, how wrong he realizes he truly is.

    Summary

Geralt is a witcher, a monster trained to kill, destroy and serve.

It is better, he keeps telling himself after what happened on that mountain, until he can't anymore.

    ---------------------------

A very self-indulgent fix-in one shot with Geralt POV, setting between episode 6 and 7.

Mentioned of capture, collar, non-con and violence.

Include made-up magic ritual, emotionally constipated witcher learning to express his feelings and idiots in love.

    Hint of Yennefer/Triss.

Ess'tuath Esse - Thus it shall be.

They stared at each other for a moment. For a split second, he contemplated the veracity of turning and pretending he hadn’t seen him, as stupid as that was. Or simply walking past him through the open cell door and never looking back. Just that fleeting moment, because in the next Jaskier’s resolve broke, shattered into little pieces.

    Summary

"This is a very simple experiment, bard." Cold blue eyes met Jaskier's. "The Witcher over there? He's dying. There's only one thing that can save him at this point."

Jaskier glanced towards Geralt apprehensively; his head lolled back. If he was conscious, he gave no sign of it.

"I want you to bond him."

Jaskier jerked, staring at the man in horror. "No."

Soul-bonding was intimate, a moment reserved in private between two people who had decided to share every joy and every sorrow. They would feel each other's pain, know if the other was on the brink of death. It was a bond that could only be forged with good intention, with the purest motive. There was no way to undo it. Bonding Geralt would mean surrendering half his soul to the Witcher, to experiencing every pain, and every woe. But worse than that. Witchers didn't have souls. Jaskier would be throwing away the greatest connection he could ever experience, for a man who would never be able to return it. Jaskier was romantic enough to admit that he wanted a romance of the ages, and a bond of certainty.

    Not this.

"Let me make this easier for you: bond him, or I'll kill you."

    Summary

Ten years ago, Geralt nearly killed Jaskier for want of a few hours' rest. In a moment of panic and desperation, he'd wished for a piece of the bard that he could take with him forever--something that would transcend the inevitability of his death. The djinn granted him Hadria--a baby djinn, who bears his blood and Jaskier's.

Eight years later, Geralt abandons them both on the side of the mountain after the disastrous dragon hunt. He tells himself that they'll be fine, so long as they stick together. And he might've been right, had Nilfgaardian soldiers not kidnapped Jaskier.

This year, when he arrives at Kaer Morhen... it's to anger and contempt, as he's forced to face the consequences of his actions head-on. The family he abandoned is broken--and not all of their wounds are immediately apparent. The family he brings with him is also broken--and unlikely to find quarter amongst angry Witchers out for blood.

Geralt's apology is long overdue... but is it too little, too late?

    --

There's a bard loose in Kaer Morhen. If you listen closely, you can hear him sobbing.

    Summary

There were many things Jaskier enjoyed and even loved about travelling with Geralt of Rivia. While the witcher most certainly was not a great talker, not even a good one to be honest, he made for a good friend in his own unique way. And new tales and heroics to be sung about were a great plus.
However, there were some instances Jaskier believed he travelled with the most unfortunate man on the whole continent.

Or: Geralt is sick and injured and Jaskier takes care of him.

    Summary

Another knock interrupted his scrutiny of his–apparently faulty–security system. He huffed out a breath and mentally consigned himself to a cold breakfast. Biting into his toast, Jaskier reached under the table to retrieve the glock he kept there for exactly this possibility.

He checked the chamber as he walked over to his door and glanced through the peephole. Nothing. Guess he’d have to do this the hard way.

Thumbing off the safety, Jaskier yanked the door open and felt a thrill of surprise burn through him at what awaited him.

Geralt of Rivia lay bleeding on his front porch.

“Well, well,” Jaskier purred, leaning against the door jam. “Who do I have to thank for this gift?”

    Summary

Fresh-faced Witcher Geralt has never worshipped any god, especially not trickster good-for-nothing-but-mayhem gods like the Traveler. When, at the end of a contract in Toussaint, a bard gifts him a sonnet during the Traveller’s festivities, Geralt doesn’t think anything of it. Soon enough, bad luck seems to follow him anywhere. As Geralt navigates the Continent with an unseen companion, he tries to come to terms with being a Witcher and making his own destiny.

    Summary

Slowly, Jaskier peeks his eyes open, peering from his peripheral at the beast—and it’s just standing in front of the door, head low and ears back, its hackles raised, making no move to suggest it’s going to lunge and make the bard its next meal.

It’s in this short bout of staring that Jaskier notices the metal around its neck, mostly lost in the fluff of its white fur, curling down to a medallion hanging against its chest.

    A medallion of a wolf’s head.

“Oh, fuck me,” Jaskier wheezes, “Fucking—I—Melitele’s arse, Geralt?”

The wolf—fucking Geralt—whuffs out a breath like he'd been holding it, hackles lowering, and growls softly.

Geralt gets himself turned into a wolf. Jaskier gets to deal with the consequences.

    Summary

Throughout their travels, Jaskier and Geralt give each other little gifts to remind the other they think of them. After the Mountain, Geralt has to find a way to repair what he'd shattered with a child and fuming bard in tow on the long journey back to Kaer Morhen and an even longer winter.
Are they just gifts, or a tradition born of something more? Can Geralt get his shit together? Can Jaskier forgive him? Will Ciri's efforts to get these knuckleheads together be successful? And why does Priscilla insist on not leaving the two idiots alone?

    Excerpt:
There is a dusty saddle bag, wound tightly and carefully closed. Every jostle sends the sound of trinkets and knick-knacks floating through the air. It’s straps are fraying, color leached out from exposure, and seams fit to bursting from the weight of its contents. It has been used time after time, to store and store things that very well may only see the continents corners when it is opened. The dried flowers pressed between pages and smoothed glass stones may never feel the heat of hands holding them after they are placed inside.

It sits. It waits for a day when it will be emptied, when it will be given.
A day that may never come at all.
