“Robby doesn’t even have a team,” Whitaker complained, and the lack of honorific was so obvious in hindsight, though right then Dana had hardly questioned when the resident had gotten so comfortable with the attending. “He just roots for whoever is playing against Philly.”
“City loyalty,” Robby emphasized again, causing the younger man to roll his eyes once more and huff out an exasperated sigh.
“Sorry, kid,” Dana offered to Whitaker. “I’m with Robby on this one. Fuck Philly.”

Summary
Robby hadn’t moved. His jaw had locked so tightly it hurt. Disgust curled low in his stomach. Not at Whitaker, never at Whitaker. How could he let this happen? Under his watch, in his ED of all places. It felt irrational. Possessive. Territorial in a way Robby hated recognizing. If he hadn’t been so thoroughly revolted by the thought of Whitaker ending up with Park, he might have found the blush steadily spreading across the kid's face unbearably endearing.
Instead it only made something inside him twist. Whitaker deserved someone careful. Someone patient. Someone better than a shark. Someone even better than Robby.
Or, Park The Shark asks Dennis out and Robby learns that Dennis has never gone "all the way" with a guy before. He has a lot of mixed emotions about that.

Summary
300 years was a long time to be alone, but Dennis knew it was for the greater good, after all, he was a vampire and would outlast any lovers or acquaintances he could ever meet, so loneliness was his solution.
That didn't mean that he isolated himself completely.
He'd craft identities from thin air and live a relatively normal life for a few years before hiding again; always a new name, new friends, new job. He supposed he wouldn't consider them lives, tragedies fit the description better.
An ER doctor was truly his bravest adventure yet; surrounded by so much blood when he could barely feed due to his long shifts pushed him to the edge frequently. But what was possibly more dangerous was two of his attendings.
Everyone else often smelt of cheap shampoo or body wash, but them? They smelt as if they were soaked in blood constantly.
Perhaps, this would become more interesting with time.
TLDR; vamp dennis, serial killers jack and robby - mess ensues

Last ch is 10
Dennis is a vampire, Robby and Jack are serial killers. A vampire killed Dennis's family and Dennis was turned into a vampire but was able to kill the guy.
Dennis was injured at work by a patient and the older men killed him. Dennis thought he was special but when a similar thing happened to a nurse and the older men killed again, Dennis grew angry and jealous. He kills the nurse in a fit of jealousy. Jack and Robby are curious who is the other killer. Jack invites Dennis over for Thanksgiving. Trinity sees a scar on Dennis's leg. It reminds him of his first love during his time in Russia. The guy was undercover and sold Dennis out and his friends. Dennis killed him by pulling out his heart. He still has the ring, baby socks, and bottle of cologne.
They all go on a date! Cue shopping trip for Dennis with the girls. He has hidden money, of course being a vampire. -

Those reinforcements happen to be Jack Abbot, who Robby's had a mysterious on again/off again situationship with for the past 25 or so years. As the three continue to play together, old feelings re-emerge, new feelings are caught, and lots of kinky sex is had.

Dennis had looked at him with those eyes and said, “I just need you to know, in case something happens, I just need you to know that I—” and Robby had kissed him before he could finish because he couldn’t hear the rest of that sentence, couldn’t hear Dennis say he loved him out loud without also saying it back, and he hadn’t been ready to say it back then.
He’s ready now, though. He’s been ready for weeks. He’s been ready every morning when he wakes up and Dennis is still there, every night when Dennis falls asleep on his chest and Robby stays awake just to watch him breathe. He’s going to say it tonight. He’s going to pull over somewhere, maybe that overlook by the river, and he’s going to take Dennis’s face in his hands and he’s going to say it. Three words, simple words.

Last ch 20
Dennis moved to Nebraska near home to work in rural medicine. He just got accepted back to the pitt for his fellowship. His mom just met Robby over FaceTime. His mom and dennis have a talk about his sexuality and she's knowm for years.
They used to date 3 years ago. It ended when Dennis moved. Robby blocked Dennis on his phone. He left him a watch with a note as a going away gift. The note is inside his phone case. Trinity was surprised to see him wearing the watch. So was Robby when he first saw him at a medical conference in Pittsburgh. Dennis told both of them that his old watch finally died. He put it on 3 months ago.
Dennis used to date Joan. They are still friends.
Dennis is accepted for the fellowship back at The Pitt! Robby meets Dennis's mom via video call. Dennis's mom brings up Dennis bring gay and asked id Robby and Dennis are dating again.
The symposium that Dennis helps set up is happening. Robby arrives and sees the life that Dennis has created outside of the Pitt. He is needed and has to manage a team of people. Constantly getting pulled away by people. Barely has time to talk with Robby. The day of the symposium is also Dennis's birthday. Robby brought a gift. Once it ends, the team and Robby go out for dinner and drinks to celebrate a job well done. Robby out it to everyone that's it's Dennis's birthday so much more drinking happens. Robby and Dennis stop by a drug store to grab items for tomorrow (meds, gatorade). Dennis lost his keycard and stays in Robby's room. Dennis has a tattoo that says Long Story.
Dennis has a massive hangover and Robby takes care of him. They talk about their relationship eneding and Dennis talks about how hard it was for him and his life has had ups and downs. Robby only heard the good parts. They decide to try again. Finally! And they kiss! Finally!!
