Right now, Jon is in front of another one of those statements he could not record. He had a feeling, before he started, that it would be one of them, one of those pesky little bastards who would not commit themselves to tape for whatever reason. However, Elias’ performance check is drawing closer and closer and he really does not want to disappoint him. Especially, not after he placed all of his trust in him. Elias is the one he cannot let down.
Jon groans audibly when he presses play on the tape recorder and all he hears is static.
He slams a fist to his desk and unceremoniously throws the sheets on a folder in the corner.
“Damn it!”
The sound of his own voice resonates in the empty room. He looks down, between his legs.
