Then, he turned around and headed for the door. But before he got there, his daughter said something else.
Or, well, she meowed something else.
He ran back towards the crib, and in the very same place where he’d left his human baby less than five seconds ago… he found a kitten.

Summary
Phil liked to watch people, not in a creepy way, just in a watching people way. I guess that’s why he took this job in the first place. Most people would probably avoid a job at a shitty 7/11, especially when it’s the night shift. But Phil needed the extra cash, and he liked to watch people, so what’s the harm?

Techno was only here for booze and some cigarettes. He didn’t have time left to make friends anyways. He wasn’t fussed, he was an easy guy, as his old friend described him. That was before that same friend left when he got his diagnosis. It made him want to laugh because it hurt. Because if he cried about it it would make it real. Techno was very good at pretending things weren’t real.

Phil wasn’t living, and Techno was okay with dying.

The recent events have made this story much more relevant than I ever wanted it to be. We are all mourning a huge loss. This story was published long before Alex's passing, so I will keep it up. I hope that this fic will become a kind of tribute. I mean no disrespect to Techno or anyone else. I hope that his family can heal.
