Remus Lupin has more than one secret, and there’s no way of knowing who he can trust. All he has are his parents, but they can’t protect him when he goes off to Hogwarts.
But then Remus meets a boy and his two other friends, and soon realises that some secrets can’t be kept forever.
Canon compliant if you want it to be. Personally, this is more self-indulgent than anything.

Summary

Sirius, ever the optimist, would like to point out that at least the pirates are hot. Regulus would like to remind him that they're still being hunted down by the king's psychotic naval admiral. Somehow, throughout their journey they manage to unintentionally save the realm from tyranny.

At this point he would do anything to escape his fate. Even being boarded by a pirate ship and held hostage sounds better than what awaits him at the end of the voyage. And seeing the captain of said pirate ship, it actually sounds way much better.

Though, things go awry quickly when neither man is as the other expects him to be, setting off a chain reaction of drama, angst, and love.
