It had made his heart stutter into a jackhammering pulsation against the bones of his sternum. Akin to instinctual panic. Alastor reached out, fingers catching her chin between her thumb and forefinger. He let out a thoughtful hum, tilting her head to the side, to the other back, up, down. Inspecting every blossoming mark decorating her neck with all the contemplativeness of an art critic.
“I suppose there are some improvements to be made to his methods,” he mused finally, letting his thumb sweep across her bottom lip, smudging the ruby gloss framing her mouth slightly.
Vox growled behind her; “Improve what, old man?”
“Well, if you’d listen to feedback,” Alastor gibed slowly, edging a letting closer to the doe demoness with every taunting syllable. He nosed at the underside of her jaw, tilting her head up as he inhaled the gentle scent of flora and vanilla. “You’re rough. You’re sloppy,”
Vox stiffened slightly, more than a little tossed off kilter by the uniquely public display of affection from Alastor, of all people, he was being presented with. He watched with rapt, wordless stupefaction as Alastor’s lidded gaze traversed the discolored terrain of her throat.
“And you don’t appreciate your canvas.”

Ok ok ok.. hear me out lol. What is this takes place in an AU where human Alastor and vox are enemies like normal but a little more tame with each other as they work in the same media building. (Vox in visual media, and alastor in podcast plus radio) What if the reader is like a director and comes in to help with each of their show episodes. They both like the reader and keep close eyes on her. The reader also has feelings for both of them but keeps things professional. And when they find out that the reader has been getting treated badly at work they kill the guy but the reader walks in on them doing it and runs away. She doesn’t tell anyone but avoided them the next day.
