Lae’zel sat down on the log next to her. She too, in deference to the danger, was not drinking. She’d just comprehensively failed at the ‘armour’ part. She wore that strange garment of leather straps. For all it’s failures as a protective garment, it did have it’s virtues as a distraction.
If she was less drunk, she might have looked less openly at the pattern of brown freckles along her collar bones, or the swells of fat behind the leather.
“Why did you not side with the drow?” Lae’zel asked.
Tav shrugged. “There’s a lot of drow. I’d have trouble siding with all of them at once.”
