“He’s going to kill you, you know.”
“I could only be so lucky,” K spat at Proko.
He took a rolled up one-hundred dollar bill and dragged over the top of his cars hood along the line of white powder. He snorted and then wiped at his nose before flicking the rolled up bill onto the ground like it was nothing. Money was nothing. It was just green paper.
Once upon a time money had been his biggest dream. If he had all the money in the world then he could fill the empty hole that his old man had carved out of him. Money could buy him happiness, money could buy him friends, money could buy him love. Kavinsky found out early on that he had been wrong. Money didn’t buy him happiness, it didn’t buy him love, and it didn’t buy him friends. It bought him hunger, it bought him lust, and it bought him cronies. They were never enough.
The hole was growing.
“You don’t have to do this, man,” Proko said, sounding pathetic and frightened.
“Don’t go soft on me, Proko. A flaccid dick is useless to me.”

Summary
There was no abuse. That’s the absolute least that Ronan can say. There were fights, bruises, hurled insults, there was blood. That was just the nature of Kavinsky. But Ronan always said yes, and in the end he was usually content or at least satisfied in whatever twisted definition of the word he wanted to use. And he tells himself later that it’s fine because he doesn’t know what to do if it isn’t.
The main thing, here, is that Adam isn’t Kavinsky. And yet, Ronan remains Ronan, and old habits die hard.
