Summary
Diluc threw the tattered remains of his life into the passenger seat of his father's car and drove. He didn't have a destination in mind - just a single minded desire to get out of California. With every mile behind him, the throb from the bruise forming on his jaw lessened and the numbness settled in.
It's two days and more than a thousand miles later when his car gives out, leaving him stranded in the middle of nowhere with a storm rolling in. Stuck walking in the rain and on the verge of giving up - a kind hand comes in the form of 36 year old rancher, Kaeya Alberich.
With nothing else to lose, Diluc takes a chance on the welcoming stranger and the man's beautiful but violent rescue horse.
He didn't start out with a destination...but perhaps something more can blossom after the rain on a small ranch in Springvale, Nebraska.

Fuck. Belatedly, Diluc realized in his rapture he’d forgotten to check the time! Guilt gnawed at him as he hastily glanced at his watch arm but before he could fulfill his religious duty, someone ran into him, sending Diluc flying to—no, not to the ground—but yes, straight into Kaeya’s waiting chest.
“Once can be called an accident. Twice a coincidence. But thrice, Diluc?”
“I-” How did one breathe again? Of course, Kaeya had to abuse the opportunity to sneak his arms around Diluc which did awful things to his heart and body. Namely, they all betrayed him. He couldn't escape.
“Thrice is fate~ I feel like your knight but without the shining armor. Hahaha.” Words sweeter than that damn liqueur. He shouldn't listen to this poison.

Diluc's life ran like clockwork. He could not afford to waste a second. Until Kaeya appeared and broke the cogs of his watch.
