“Simon.” The woman barely got the word out before her throat closed, and a choked sob cracked open the floodgates. “My- my name is Simon.”
Those were the last words that left her for a long, long time, as her vision blurred with hot tears. Simon’s lungs rattled with ugly, wonderful, broken sobs, and everything she’d felt in the depths of that ocean broke from her. And finally, heart in her throat, Grace took a shaky step forward. And another. And another, until she carefully knelt down in front of Simon. Maybe it was an awful idea, because this woman was scared, and confused, and completely raw in every emotion. But her hand came to rest on the woman’s trembling knee, and though she was not the one shaking, her voice still cracked when she spoke.
“You’re alive, Simon. You’re safe. No one’s gonna hurt us again.”

Summary
At the lowest Arthur has ever been, Kayne offers a deal: John will be freed from the King in Yellow, but he will kill someone that Arthur loves.
It's not a difficult choice at all.Both men are transported to a lighthouse near Innsmouth, Massachusetts. Bizarrely, they seem to have gotten something else out of the deal: John has a body, and learning to cope with his newfound corporeality is more of a challenge than he realized. They try to find some small comfort with one another, even as the shadows of Innsmouth grow around them - until an impossible face comes to town and shatters their illusions of safety.

“John…” he muttered, followed by a close-mouthed whine.
John froze, as much as a non-physical presence in Arthur’s mind could freeze.
Arthur… he let out a purring whisper. Is it… A nice dream again?
Arthur sighed again, shifting slightly. With every other breath, quiet whines made it out of his throat. John slowly raised his hand to his face, passing his fingers along the textured skin. His features seemed smooth, relaxed – it really didn’t seem like Arthur was having a nightmare.
“John…” Arthur mouthed against his hand, turning his face towards the touch, and something in John seized with a possessive heat he couldn’t quite conceptualize at that point. He dug his fingers into Arthur’s cheek, just enough to exert pressure but not enough to hurt, careful of the wooden pinky.---
Arthur keeps whispering John's name in his sleep and being cagey about it when he wakes. John finally confronts him about it.

Summary
Oscar studies him clearly from mussed hair to scuffed boot, focusing in on the strange half-second in which he felt his way along the pew in order to move closer. Time had not been kind to either of them, leaving its obvious marks in various places. Instead of pointing out new scars, the wrinkled state of his jacket, how the knot of his tie was not quite tight enough, he simply drinks him all in to the best of his impartial ability. It is not easy.
“You’re still thin,” he admonishes kindly. “That always worried me, you know?”
Carefully he lifts his remaining hand to Arthur’s face, palm cupping one side of his jawline as if feeling along the bone there. Automatically Arthur closes his eyes, sinking into the touch. Just as soon as he leans against the fleeting shiver of heat, it’s gone.
Arthur and John return to what they left behind, hoping for a fresh start.

Charlie ends up having to go back to Spain, and after much deliberation, it's decided that it's impractical, given the gravity of the situation they've put themselves in, for Oscar to go with him like he'd planned. Charlie asks Arthur to take care of Oscar, and goes back to his lonely life in Spain for however long it takes for them to let him go.

It turns out that having a fragment of a god excised from your mind has some side-effects, and being a fragment of a god suddenly resident in a human ex-corpse isn't particularly straightforward either.
They'll help each other through it. They always do.

The good news: Viktor took a break at the right time for Jayce to watch him in the afternoon light, when he went to sit on the armchair by the window. It was an ethereal image - the sun caught the wild strands of his hair, dipping them in gold.
The bad news: there was no way to represent this without switching to toned paper.
The good news: Jayce bought toned paper.
The bad news: Viktor ended up looking more like some kind of bioluminescent hedgehog.
