He heard everyone gasp and he turned away from the counter to look at the scene. August screamed something, but his words never reached Enjin's ears. Because the moment he saw Tamsy, who stood behind August, he felt his body freeze.

Dabi could see the cracks in the monument. The tremors in Hawks’ exhales at dusk, the chronic emptiness in his golden eyes. Like a vicious serpent, Dabi had snaked through the crevices and had found his way to the winged hero’s barely beating heart. He’d sunk his fangs in it with the offering of that first cigarette and had started injecting his venom as soon as Hawks had taken the first drag.
