For as long as he can remember, Shōto has never known happiness and love.
An abusive father, a mother gone insane and a missing brother were the things that left the boy physically and emotionally scarred to the point of being unable to have any feeling if not rage and hatred.
Hiding his insecurity under make up and a stoic expression he walks the hallways of UA alone, with an empty heart till Izuku tries to make his way into his wrecked heart.𝘿𝙄𝙎𝘾𝙇𝘼𝙄𝙈𝙀𝙍:
The story will stretch through the 3 years of UA.
I left some things as they're in the anime/manga (the events from the sport festival to the provisional hero license will take place but won't be narrated) but I changed few others for the sake of the plot.
Shōto was homeschooled before UA.
He doesn't visit his mother right after the sport festival, but later on. He covers his scar until the second half of 1st year. He doesn't get the provisional hero license at all.
Katsuki and Izuku are actually good friends. -

It's hard to mourn for something you've never had, but seeing your friends with quirks and seeing heroes putting their quirks to good use, you can't help but feel cheated some days. As a child you cried that you would never be part of the majority, that you would never know what it felt to fly or to conjure fire or to create powerful whirlwinds. As an adult, it's a little easier to cope with.
You don't dream of saving people, and you don't dream of a life of crime, so having a quirk would be rendered useless anyway as it is illegal to use your quirk without a proper license.
One day you return home from work only to find half the block destroyed in a villain attack, you think the danger is over after the villains have fled the scene with heroes on their tail, only to realize someone was left behind in the rubble.
