“Well, the wine and television are not helping. Is there anything that will?” Charles rubs his thumbs over Max’s cheekbones like it’s little more than a domestic habit. “I meant it, chéri. I want to help.”
Max will blame it on the wine for the rose pink tinting the edges of his vision, for the wanting so obvious in the dip of his tongue: “Fuck me.”
