“I don’t think you’ve brewed it correctly,” Harry admitted, wrinkling his nose.
Draco scoffed, unimpressed, “Potter. Do you really think I would take potions advice from you?”
“Well if you think it’s so perfect why don’t you smell it? Oh, wait. You wouldn’t be able to because it reeks of your bloody shampoo!”
If either of the two had been more perceptive, they would’ve heard Pansy choke in the background, and notice that they now had the rest of the class's attention--even Snape’s.
Draco, clearly irritated, took in a whiff of the potion as well. “Are you nose-blind Potter? How could you expect to smell anything correctly over that horrid cologne?”
“W-what?!” Harry squawked indignantly, “What cologne?”

"Well, um. He's pretty." Will says, giving Mike a quick glance before turning back to Lucas. "Really pretty."
That's.. vague. Mike doesn't know what to do with that information.
"Will. Come on!" Dustin protests. "We need more than that. Like a hair or eye color. Do we even know him?"
"Okay, fine," Will huffs, trying to hide the smirk growing on his face, but failing miserably. "He has dark curly hair and dark brown eyes." He pauses, then adds: "You guys might know him."
OR: Mike Wheeler isn't completely sure who Will's mystery crush is. However, he does have a working theory about who it might be.

There’s something wrong with Will.
It started three weeks ago, almost four. Will had woken from some sort of nightmare and, instead of seeking comfort in Mike the way he usually would, he’d rolled out a sleeping bag from the closet and chosen to sleep on the floor.
No one believes Mike, except for Joyce. But even she doesn’t understand the full extent to which something is wrong with Will.
Mike understands, though. Mike has been paying attention.

That’s the deciding vote.
Mike swallows hard, pride bruised and aching. He forces the jealousy down, packs it away somewhere tight and sharp in his chest, where it can’t spill out and make things worse. He nods once, stiffly, lips pressed into a thin line that he hopes passes for a smile.
“Yeah,” he says, even though the word tastes bitter. “Sure, sounds fine.”
or; Mike isn’t on board with going to that party, so he suggests staying in the basement to play instead, except this time, they actually go. And he is jealous.
