From the day they were born, in the glittering spires of Hive City Ebott, Kris had always heard voices.
Kris was quite young when their birth parents learned of this… condition. To harbor a witch in the midst of Imperial citizenry is a capital offense, and any who are even suspected to be one are loaded onto the Black Ships, from which there is no return. Kris’s only chance at life lay in the underhive, where mutants and outlaws eke out miserable, scrabbling lives amongst the refuse of civilization. Deep in the bowels of the hive-city, amongst rusted habs and creeping vines, lay a colony of beastmen who took the young psyker in as one of their own. One grows up fast in such a place, but Kris found something resembling a home. As with any hope there is to be found in the grim darkness of the 41st Millenium, it was not to last. -

All Asha of the Emperor's Children wanted to do was get drunk and maybe get laid. He figured he'd nip down to the shithole planet, go to a bar, pick up his boyfriend of the weekend, and have a grand old time. Apparently, the Night Lords have other plans. They want access to a certain shipyard and have decided that Asha's going to be the one who wrangles the deal. Never mind that Asha's not even in that warband or that he doesn't have anything Lucius the Eternal wants. When he's given two slaves - a Loyalist Astartes named Ruslan and a terrified baseline human called Caspian - Asha knows he's fucked (and not in the fun way, either).
Somehow, he's got to get all of them through this and convince an asshole loyalist to cooperate? Please? So they don't wind up rotting in a carcass pit or something even worse?
Yeah, that'll happen when pigs grow wings and fart rainbows.
