Carter flashed a crooked grin, and Susan found herself wondering why he hadn’t been snatched up by some flirty intern, or even a patient. When she’d teased Mark about Carter’s attractiveness, she hadn’t been misleading in her assessment; he did have beautiful brown eyes, and he was handsome in a sweet, boyish sort of way that was bound to make young girls swoon. But not her. Susan was a resident, and at least four years his senior, and she had no interest in babysitting what was undoubtedly a high maintenance lay.
