Emmrich pauses, thinking for a moment. He is aware of Ilia's lifelong struggle with empathy and apathy, the elf making it all explicitly clear to him when they first began courting. He knows that Ilia has to fight to feel, let alone process, his own emotions, knows that they don't come naturally nor easily, knows that this builds a frustration within him. Feeling nothing, after a time, brings him to long for a release of anything. Emmrich is immeasurably honoured that Ilia entrusts him to be the provider of this.
"As you wish, my dear," he says with a smile.

Summary
Did he even know what wanton was when Davrin showed just as much of his gorgeous chest while woodcarving (those shavings had to itch though, Rook reckoned) and Taash walked around with those legs out? Summary
After the excellent dinner date in the Memorial Gardens – and an equally great time had after the fact – Rook decides that it's his turn to organise a date. Emmrich has spent so much of their relationship revealing deep, vulnerable parts of himself; Rook feels it only right that he offer something of himself in return. Arriving in Minrathous with little information as to what their evening might entail, an off-balance Emmrich neglects to mention his own plans for the night.
This work contains a brief allusion to a potential past sexual assault of a minor not related to the canon characters (ch. 2), and has some cartoonish depictions of violence (ch. 1). Neither is explicit, but I chose to mark the work as non-warned and cover this here so that you can make an informed choice. Chapter 3 is entirely free of archive-warning-relevant material, and also includes the smut. Do with that information what you wish.

AU, eventually canon-ish.Varric doesn't reach Nevarra City until months after The War of Banners. Myrna and Vorgoth arrange a marriage to keep their foster-son home in the Necropolis amid the fallout. Rook wishes they'd asked his opinion on the matter, but Emmrich Volkarin could be worse, for a senior necromancer.

Maybe it was safe to admit it now, before it got so bad that Grier couldn’t undo it. He wanted the attention from Emmrich. It was hard not to preen when Emmrich praised his moves in a fight, or to lean in when Emmrich got onto a topic he liked. Something about him radiated a familiar warmth, and Grier found himself seeking out that focus more and more.
He’d done something dangerously close to flirting, a couple times. Without realizing it, if he was honest. Compliments worded a bit more suggestively than he’d intended them to be. He was used to saying what he meant without a thought, but now he found himself considering his words, lest he admit such an embarrassing craving for praise.

He rolled his head back, exposing the delicate curve of his throat like an animal showing its belly in submission. His lips parted perfectly, and his voice dropped to a deep, sultry purr.
“That’s right, darling. I think we’re quite alike, actually…we’re cursed with similar appetites.”
The Dark Urge scoffed. “If only you knew the half of it, Astarion.”
Astarion used to pray for a hero that could rescue him. 200 years later, the gods finally send him one. Of course, it's only fitting that his hero isn't prince or a paladin, but a mysterious cannibal assassin, a monster as bloodthirsty as he is.

If Jaws is the sun, Astarion is the moon. They are opposites that work together in harmony despite their differences. It's always a balancing act. Sometimes as the sun rises you can still see a faint moon in the sky, but the light will soon drown out the darkness and erase it from sight.
Their love is similar. It's the kind where neither can live without the other, but by being together they lose a core part of themselves. There is a constant pressure to outshine the other. To overtake. To smother. Yet somehow it feels better to burn than to let their love fade.
Jaws and Astarion at their core are both terrified, lashing out toward everything and everyone, even one another.
All bite, no bark.
