Summary
Buck had been used to the silence since 18, only hearing loud sounds and voices when he didn't wear his aids. That's half of what was tearing him up so bad about this situation. Normally, when he didn't want to be bothered with the world, he'd turn down his aids and bask in the silent calmness of it all. Now, suddenly robbed of a choice in the matter, the cushiony silence of his hearing loss seemed like the biggest fuck you of all time.
