The oven is still warm, filling the entire apartment with the smell of home and peace. The night is quiet, refreshing after the day that had passed. Three pairs of shoes sit by the front door. The moon is not quite full, but bright enough to send light passing through the blinds, passing between threads of the curtains in the living room.
Chris is glued to Buck’s side, the three crammed together on the left side of Eddie’s couch. There’s no need to sit in the way they do, the couch spans across the room, soft and inviting. Buck is sandwiched between his two favorite people, both of which are dangerously close to falling asleep. Buck thinks that if he could take all the clocks in the world, if he could pause them for a single moment and live in it forever, it would be this moment. This place.

“I told you I was busy!”
“You’re always busy! I haven’t heard from you in three weeks!”
“Well-” Faith bites back her words, thinking. “...Has it really been that long?”
“Yes,” she cries and Buck pulls his hand back before he can interrupt. “I know you love your job and I know how important your work is to you, but seriously? You won’t even answer my texts.”

Summary
How could Eddie just say he was leaving the 118? Did Buck really mean so little to him that he could just leave without talking to Buck? Buck felt his world stop spinning and come crashing down around him. But one argument leads to the most important confession of Buck's life. Will that confession be enough to make Eddie change his mind or will he take more convincing? It's not always easy for Buck to express how he feels but it's even harder for Eddie to do it. Buck doesn't need easy, he needs Eddie and Eddie needed Buck even if he didn't know it yet.
"Y-y- you're leaving?" I stammered, "how? Why? After everything we've been through?"
"Buck it's more complex than that," Eddie responded, "I have to think about Christopher."
"Christopher is a scared kid Eddie, but this is bigger than him." I replied, "You're not making this decision because of Chris, you're just using that as an excuse." -

Summary
Evan Buckley has never known the luxury of feeling stable, at least not for an extended period of time, so it comes as no surprise to him that Maddie, Chim and Jee leaving town, only a few months after Eddie got shot in broad daylight...right in front of him...while working...on a side street in L.A. has brought an unshakeable weight upon his shoulders. Although it's familiar, the unwelcome presence leads him to question his relationship with Taylor, especially the way their rekindled romantic relationship ironically (in a dark sort of way) shot back to life after the life was nearly shot out of Eddie.
Missing Maddie's guidance and being conflicted by Dr. Copeland's, Buck feels like his thread is about to snap. And just as it does, a saving grace arrives that helps him mend his broken pieces. -

Summary
Buck finds out he's gained an admirer...but it's not the kind of admirer he wants.
"What are we doing, Buck?"
Buck lifted one finger from Eddie's throat and rubbed the tiny cleft in his chin, his eyes following the movement. His lashes lifted back to Eddie's face; meeting the dark, bottomless gaze it felt like he'd loved all his life.Buck shifted a tad closer until their noses brushed. "Taking a moment out of time," is what he finally says, chickening out.

Summary
||
“It’s bad, Chim, it’s so bad.” Buck moaned, privately relieved at the chance to unload his bursting heart to someone, “I’ve been trying to do this since January, and tomorrow’s Valentine’s! I spend hours just thinking about the way his arms move when he works out, and oh my god his eyes, Chim, oh my god I could just get lost in them forever! Why is this so hard? I can literally jump into burning buildings but I can’t tell-” he stopped suddenly as Chim kicked him right in the shin, and Buck startled.
The random act of violence was justified though, as Eddie swung an arm around Buck and asked, “What can’t you tell?” Buck shot a grateful look to Chim and laughed nervously.
