Gladio and Noctis are sprawled on the couch, busy gaming and elbowing each other in the ribs to get ahead. Perched on the table, Prompto swings his feet back and forth and watches. Now that the emotional legwork is mostly sorted, he just feels giddy. Like a soda can someone shook and stirred up all the fizz.
Maybe that’s what possesses him to grin like a cat and ask, ‘So, out of the three of you, who’s the best kisser?’”

No one else is looking at the screen when the newscaster announces the discovery of facilities in Niflheim before the screen is filled with the image of a hundred identical people walking tentatively out into the sunlight.
Noctis huffs behind him, mutters, “It’s always Niflheim.”
“Gods,” Prompto whispers before he can stop himself. His voice is rough, almost wet—he doesn’t understand what’s going on.
Prompto doesn’t know if it’s what he says, or maybe something on the television finally catches the attention of his boyfriends but all at once, they react too. Gladio swears, two then three times in a row, and Prompto gets it, wishing he was less frozen, so he could join in too.Alternatively: Prompto finds out he’s a clone at the exact same moment as the rest of the world.

Ignis pulls a whistling kettle off of the stove. Noctis twitches at his side, a threadbare sock tickling his thigh under a heavy knit blanket. Gladio must be nearby, too; Prompto can hear the deep rumble of his voice, sending a shiver down his spine unbidden.
Maybe there’s no one here at all.
He’s lying still enough to be dead, he thinks.
At least he can hardly feel the cold anymore.Prompto can take care of himself. He's mastered the art of it in the years he's spent on his own, carefully weaving a delicate veil of explanations for the prince and his entourage.
He can juggle his classes, his work, and the endless piles of bills in the entryway. He can get by on the meager scraps left for groceries when rent is due.
At least until a frozen pipe and an ever observant advisor make it impossible to keep up the farce.

Summary
Bruce’s eyes snap open and he jumps off the bench. He doesn’t have to look around because the screaming child is charging straight right at him.
Bruce only has a moment to spot the little boy before the kid jumps into his arms. Bruce hadn’t even realized that he was holding his arms open. The little boy buries his face on Bruce’s shoulder and he’s still screaming, but it’s muffled by Bruce’s soft black sweater. The crying boy’s fists are clenching the sweater, and he’s holding on for dear life.
“It’s okay,” Bruce says soothingly, even though he’s not sure what the danger is.
He quickly gets an answer in the form of an aggressive, “QUACK!!!”
He looks down at his feet and the initial quack is followed by another round of angry quacks and flapping wings.
This is part of a series, but it can be read as a stand alone. It's inspired by a tumblr poll that picked Tim as the one most likely to get chased by ducks.
