Summary
The summer after high school, Mike Wheeler finds himself scooping ice cream in an itchy sailor's outfit with his sometimes-friend-sometimes-enemy, Max Mayfield at Scoops Ahoy. With Will Byers working at the pizza shop across the food court, Mike finds himself daydreaming of running away together, far away from Hawkins. Mike is pretty sure of his feelings for his best friend, but he's never had the chance to put them to the test- that is, until a drunken game of spin the bottle at Stacey's party.

He wanted to push Mike away. Wanted to scream: "Get off me! Stop! She's right outside the door!" But his hands wouldn't obey. His body wouldn't obey. He only gripped Mike's shoulders tighter and pulled him closer, feeling him push deeper, slowly, inexorably.

maybe Will had thought the night with Mike would be like before: movies, jokes, a drawing in his sketchbook. But when their scents suddenly mingled and their bodies refused to submit to reason, his familiar world collapsed. Presentation overtook them both at once primal, erasing all boundaries.

Will frowns. “What?”
“I don’t know, I’m just— every time we—” he stops when Will pulls his hand away by his wrist and resumes dabbing his lip. He doesn’t think twice when he brings the tissue to his mouth to make use of his own saliva, and Mike doesn’t question him either. “I can’t be normal around you anymore.”
Will delicately cleans him up, eyes calm and steady, voice comfortably quiet. “I’m not asking you to be.”
Or: In the November morning light, everything has changed. Mike and Will try to figure out who they really are, what they really want, and how much they really need each other before they lose their minds—but, if they’re honest, that might just be the fun part.
