Summary
"So should we start blocking off time in our calendar for dance lessons with Coach Diaz?"
Eddie knows Karen means it as a joke, but the combination of the wine in his system and the joy in his gut make it feel serious, "Yes."
"Wait, really?" Hen asks.
"If she wants to dance, I'll teach her to dance. We had fun today," Eddie finishes his glass and notices he's probably at the point where he's drunk enough to talk about the Buck thing.
"You don't have to do that Eddie. I'm sure we could pay for lessons somewhere," Karen offers.
"Or we could pay you," Hen offers.
"I have an idea for that actually," alright, Eddie, be brave, "I give Mara dance lessons and you both give me gay lessons."
or
When Mara becomes obsessed with ballroom dance Eddie becomes her teacher. Along the way he realizes he's in love with Buck, starts receiving "gay lessons" from Hen and Karen, and forms a ragtag dance academy. What could possibly go wrong?

Summary
He hasn’t gotten around to telling Buck about them being mates, or the whole… werewolf thing in general, but he’s working on it!
Werewolves are not known by the public, which is arguably the biggest hurdle. They still hide in the shadows, not willing to risk their existence becoming common knowledge in fear of what the consequences might be. Secrecy was something that had been drilled into his head as soon as he could understand what he was; keeping their gift a secret was the most important rule of their kind, and he’s hammered the same rule into Chris’ head once the boy learned what they were.
So, he will tell Buck, of course. Has to, if he wants to complete their bond - which he absolutely does - it’s just a matter of figuring out the best way to do so.
Or: In a world where werewolves exist and the Diaz family are all shifters, the aftermath of the tsunami might have looked a little bit different.

Summary
Before Eddie can think of any more excuses, Buck bursts back through the surface of the water with Eddie’s body in his arms.
Eddie looks down at himself, still kneeling on the dock, and then at what is unmistakably also him in the water. Buck sucks in a great gasp of air, but the Eddie in the water doesn’t. His head slumps limp onto Buck’s shoulder, and the puzzle pieces of the last few minutes suddenly fall into place.
Finding himself back on the dock with no memory of how he got there. Buck unable to see or hear him. Eddie’s hand passing right through him.
Oh. He didn’t make it out of the water. He drowned.

After an injury on a call, Eddie finds himself something he never expected to be...
A ghost.

Summary
“Anyways. As I was saying,” she pauses to give him a significant look, the smell of her amusement thick in his nose, “what could it hurt? I know you’ve been a little lonely, and there’s no reason not to give it a shot now! The house is entirely unpacked, and decorated even, because I’ve never seen anyone nest as much as you do. And you’re done with the academy and your parents still haven’t reached out. Come ooooon, Eddie,” she finishes with a whine.
“No.”
“Eddie.”
“No!”
“Edmundo,” She pushes, purposefully over pronouncing the syllables of his name and he glares at her.
“I’m not taking part in a fucking mating run, Shan! Drop it.”
She rolls her eyes, finishing off her beer and then snatching his up and chugging that one as well.
“I’ll convince you,” she mutters, pretending to gag at the warm beer.
“No you won’t,” he laughs.

Summary
There’s too much heat. The flames crackle and curl in the busted windows. The house is only two stories high. If Buck would listen, if he’d turn around and get out – he could be at the door, he could be out of the fucking blast radius.
But Buck’s still standing in it.
Eddie is cursed.
Like he has been for years.
Eddie is the blast radius.
OR
Eddie Diaz is cursed.
