Summary
Melody is the rejected daughter of the Alpha of the Smoking Mountain pack of werewolves. She used to be loved then her mother died and her father remarried and her life became crap. Years of being a servant to the pack and beaten by her supposed family left her with little hope of happiness. Her mate even rejected her. She wanted things to be like before her mother died.
Isaiah is a mysterious wolf who has lived over two hundred years. He travels the world but always returns to the land he was born in. The descendants of his mother's pack always welcomed him even if they all feared him. He was highly skilled in fighting and had powers that could burn entire cities to the ground. Rumor was that his father was the Devil himself. Isaiah didn't deny it. Now he finds himself back in his ancestral lands as the once fearsome pack is slowly deterioting. He offers to train the warriors to restore their reputation.
Melody is intrigued by the mysterious stranger. She soon finds herself drawn to him. He responds in kind and brings her the hope she had been waiting for. But should she trust the son of the Devil?

After his mom died, Stiles started walking in the Preserve. Well, it might have started as running away from the house, insisting to his dad that he could find her, he could find his mom and she was okay, it wasn’t her that they buried. It couldn’t have been her. It had to have been some kind of alternate version of her and the real her was safe, and healthy and happy, and nothing was ever going to happen to the real version of her, she was just lost or kidnapped or something, replaced by a clone or a robot. Because that was easier to believe than believing he’d never see her, touch her, smell her, have her embrace or her gentle smiles ever again. It was easier to pretend.
His dad would always follow, never far behind, but far enough that Stiles could maintain the facade that he was alone. That he was on a mission and he was going to accomplish it. And maybe some of that blind childish hopefulness and imagination helped his dad too. Or maybe it just made it more painful. He’s never been able to ask that question.
