Sometimes you think he knows everything. That this is all some kind of fucked up payback for what happened to Don Hector. You find yourself wondering if he would understand if you explained that it was for your father’s sake. Out of everything that’s what eats at you the most— the fact that there’s a part of you that wants Lalo’s forgiveness and would do anything, even this, to earn it.

Summary
Nacho is found by Lalo after his betrayal, and to his horror, finds that Lalo may have some use for him yet. What spirals forth is a dark set of exchanges, forcing Nacho to come to terms not only with his place by Lalo’s side, but eventually, with his own feelings shifting far outside his control.

Summary
The spirits of those who die a violent death are liable to become trapped on earth. Ghosts, amorphous shades that linger around their own graves. Such beings are rarely perceived by the living. Maybe, as a cold spot, or a wind from nowhere- a whisper in the shell of one’s ear. That doesn't mean they aren’t there.
The underground laboratory built by Gustavo Fring is haunted. The ghosts, he placed there himself- one remains because of unfulfilled vengeance, and the other, because he doesn’t understand his own death. Both were killed by gunshot wounds. One was killed by the other.
What, in undeath, could two such phantoms have to talk about? A wolf and a sheepdog, forced to haunt the same pit. Both, it seems, are unable to find the peace required to leave.
At times, the laboratory is also visited by another spirit. This one, an amphiptere- a serpent with an angel's wings.

Summary
When someone lies well, two worlds are created.
In one, the serpent Nacho Varga is caught under a Chilean boot. In order to save his father, he must earn the trust of a very dangerous alpha. Suppressant pills are flushed down the toilet, and biology is a gun, aimed deliberately at its target.
In another, the wolf Lalo Salamanca is as surprised as anyone when his cousin’s omega lieutenant goes into heat in the middle of a work day. Such a sudden hormonal shift can only mean one thing- that he is especially attracted to a new alpha in his environment, and desperate for the touch of that person his instincts have deemed particularly worthy. Well, it’s flattering- and what kind of alpha would Lalo be, if he didn’t oblige?
In both, there’s something to be said for the utility of pretty eyelashes.

"This is just when Nacho gave up, thinking that was all the information he was going to get on the matter of where they're going, when Lalo suddenly looks at him seriously. He gestures with both hands, palms bent in with all fingers pointing towards himself, "When Eladio calls you, you answer." And spreads his hands out in front of himself, as if he is presenting the answer; as if that explains it. It doesn't. "
Ignacio once again rises to the demands the cartel presents to him.

Summary
Lalo seems as unperturbed as ever, spidery shadows twitching on his cheeks, when his eyes move behind his closed lids.
He’s still just mouthing along to the lyrics, his whole profile illuminated by the sun, every pore, wrinkle and hair follicle made visible, an effect only exacerbated by the slight sheen of sweat on his skin.
Unwittingly, Nacho’s reminded of that documentary on deep-sea life Jo and Amber had running in the background yesterday while they were high out of their mind. Of the anglerfish dangling a light in front of unsuspecting fish. Look at me, it screams. Dig your teeth in, gorge yourself. But just when you think yourself safe, when you get too close – a snap of teeth and you’re over. Done for.
Nacho is that fish. Perhaps even stupider, considering he knows exactly what he’s facing.
(AU in which soulmates can only speak the truth to one another, and Nacho's already crappy situation takes a turn for the worse when he's confronted with a sudden inability to lie to Lalo.)

Nacho thinks about the peasants somewhere at the crest of South America; smiling peasant families digging their hands into the dirt, planting coca plants in little green rows. Planting and toiling under the gunfire and smoke, so that some distant gringo lawyer can snort his second wind off a bathroom sink; so a college kid can get a better lay. So that he can sit here, in his big house, having dinner with his asshole boss, and feel like shit.

The point of contact seems to burn and Nacho thinks: You should’ve seen who I used to be. You would’ve liked that version of me. Before your family did this to me.
