“It doesn’t feel like the show’s tomorrow,” Dream says after a beat. He rolls over on his bed, making space for Punz and sitting up. Punz takes a seat next to him.
“I know. It feels like you guys just ran laps because you didn’t know your lines,” Punz teases. Dream rolls his eyes.
“Maybe it’s because we did,” Dream says, nudging Punz with his shoulder.

If I am Icarus then Punz must be the sun, Dream thinks as Punz tugs him around a corner, suit fitted perfectly to his chest. It reminds Dream of the first time they met, before the war, before the conflict between their kingdoms, before they were forbidden from seeing each other outside of royal business. Dream misses when it was just them running around hallways that are built more like mazes, their laughter echoing off of the bricks and bouncing off of the windows. Right now it feels like he’s back there, laughing with Punz as if he doesn’t have another care in the world.

His greatest weakness is on display every single time he gets even remotely embarrassed, his entire face blooming a bright scarlet with complete transparency. His friends, especially, never let him hear the end of it. And, what’s even worse? His blush makes him an easy target. Which is why it becomes such an issue when Punz transfers to his high school and is immediately placed on their team.

“Dream?”
Dream’s head shoots up and there stands Sapnap.
“Hi,” Dream croaks out, immediately cringing at the unsureness in his own voice. The last thing he expected when he decided to return to his old town was for his years-long crush to resurface but here it is.
Dream decides to drive back to the town he grew up in for a reason that not even he knows and he ends up reconnecting with his childhood best friend.

Regulus grunted. "You wish it was you."
James coughed awkwardly, his eyes darting everywhere except Regulus' face. "Maybe… Maybe I do."
Regulus' eyebrows shot up in surprise. "You want to kiss me?" he asked, just to make sure.
"Yes." James sheepishly glanced at him. "If you're okay with that."
Regulus was very, very okay with that. In fact, a rather large part of him had been hoping they'd already kissed last night, so that another kiss would be more likely to happen. He'd never admit that out loud, of course, and certainly not to James.
"I suppose I am okay with that."
Or, Regulus wakes up on the morning of New Year's Day in a bed that isn't his, and it just so happens to belong to James Potter.
