Dan wants to get as far away from him as possible. Dan wants to climb into his skin and it close enough. The latter always seems to win. Phil carries himself differently since he came back, he’s quiet, Phil Lester isn’t quiet, he’s not supposed to be. Phil Lester is loud, he’s loud in everything he does, he’s loud in the way he loves, except everything about him now is quieter, it’s still, like a pond right before a rock hits it, it’s calm that’s waiting for something, for someone to strike.

Buck feels like he’s losing his mind, but he just sees it, sees everything so clearly, it almost feels like it’s just out of reach. As if he could only grip tighter, and he’d be back in a moment, like he could reach out and touch the moments of his history. He imagines it sometimes, when he closes his eyes, everything he would do differently; he can taste every mistake he’s ever made.

“Eddie!” Buck's voice cuts through the fog, “Eddie! Eddie look at me,”
“He’s-” he can’t breathe, “Chris is gone, he not coming back.”
Buck raises him into a sitting position and cradles his face in his hands, “Breathe. I need you to look at me.”
The room is spinning, and he can’t see Buck. He can feel Buck’s hands, but his instinct is to fight the touch. Buck’s fingertips burn into his flesh, and pain has never been so holy. His face is wet with tears, and he was born cursed to yearn for a love he could never truly have—he could never truly have Buck or his son.
Or some feelings come out when Eddie confronts Tommy about the breakup.

Phil sighs, and does what every sensible person would do, after being abandoned by their partner of thirteen years because it’s “the best for him”.
He opens Grindr.
He finds some buff guy named Hank who put in a selfie in a fitness studio, posing in front of a mirror to show off sweaty biceps. His bio says “I don’t do that pronoun shit, I do protein”, and Phil knows he’s perfect.
Dan breaks up with Phil. Phil decides to try and get him back the unconventional, yet effective route (Rage-Baiting).
