It had never mattered what Chan did, how much effort he put in for them; he could do whatever they told him to, and they'd still look at him like he was trash. And wasn't he? He had always tried so hard to make people happy, but he could never seem to please his alphas. How pathetic was that?
He was supposed to be able to make the alphas in his life happy. But something had gone wrong in his programming, and somehow or another, all he could do was make the alphas he was interested in absolutely fucking hate him.
Why the hell would he go back outside and try again?After yet another rough breakup from a rocky relationship, Chan has finally decided he's had enough. Saying it out loud sounds incredibly ridiculous though, so he ignores the weird clenching in his chest when he stops by the bakery on his way home to order cupcakes for them all and it happens again.
“How many was it, dear?”, the older lady behind the counter asks, when she lines them all up in a box to go.
“Eight?”“Seven.”
Minho smiles thinly and pushes the weird sting in his heart as far off his mind as he can manage.“We’re only seven.”

Spending a year mute, Hyunjin wonders if going to college is even worth it anymore. It wasn't until a boy with disarmingly bright eyes sat next to him and rambled his ear off that Hyunjin began to think maybe - just maybe - there was something worth living for.
