Summary
The castle air was thick with the smell of iron, and even for a 3-year-old who had no knowledge of the violence and cruelty the world held, Tommy’s nose scrunched up at the putrid smell.
He stood in his playpen, crying out for attention that had not been given to him for about half an hour now.
Contrary to popular belief, half an hour is not that short of a time.
It was enough for a child to feel like he had been abandoned,
Enough for a father to go on the run,
Enough for a kingdom to fall under attack.
Or
Half-human half-winged Tommy is taken from his kingdom as a child, and despite all odds he isn’t killed, but instead taken under the wing of ‘big brother Dream.’
Philza, Wilbur, and Techno mourn the assumed death of their little brother while Tommy is raised learning that he was abandoned by them.
Angst and trauma ensues.

Summary
Tommy had been a play piece in man’s game before his life with Dream. He still remembers it- thrust into a ring to gnash and claw and burn others like him for an opportunity to live another day.
Even now, years later, he would sometimes sit scratching his claws desperately and endlessly against the exposed metal of his glorified cage to dull them. He would never again be like that, the mutt kit stripped of his innocence with blood splattering his face and copper in his teeth.

It's been a few weeks since he ran away and Tommy's moved in with Techno. He's settling in fine, except that he feels like he's constantly confused: Techno hadn't gotten mad at him once, even when Tommy made stupid mistakes and did things that would have gotten him hit not a month ago. But the strangest thing is that Techno, hell, all three of them, seem to genuinely care about him.
Hopefully Tubbo will be able to help him work out what's happening.
