“Yes, Oz, I’ll drive you.” Daphne laughs. “Who knows maybe you’ll say something I can use in the future.”

He’s happy.
So when Daphne’s phone buzzes against her at 3 in the morning, waking her up, and she answers seeing Oz’s name, she’s surprised to hear how somber he sounds.

It’s more the fact that they had blatantly ignored him. David had wanted one dinner together, and while he said that it was to discuss him leaving high school early (he can’t stand it there), really, deep down, he just wanted to see his family altogether again.
