The thing about that day is, Ben doesn’t actually need reminding. Sure he was drunk out of his mind and minutes from passing out, but he still remembers everything. Chris had found him, nursed him back to sobriety, and it’s not something he’ll easily forget. He'd lucked out that day.
But sometimes he thinks that he’d come out of it worse off.
The conversation is inevitable and he knows it’ll happen someday. If not with Chris, then maybe with a therapist. He imagines how it would play out for a moment. Definitely a therapist, he concludes. Could you picture the reaction when he says, "hey CP, I fell in love with you after you found me in a puddle of my own vomit." Really, in this case the truth will do more harm than any lie he could tell. He’d also rather avoid the option of losing Chris for good.

"What do you have?" Max asks, his annoyance slowly climbing as he resists the urge to either massage his temples or choke the man across from him.
Charles shrugs nonchalantly. "Ice cream is finished and the machine is broken. We literally got nothin-"
