Reader is finishing up a five-year sentence in a wizarding prison at the bottom of the Atlantic Ocean when she consents to an arranged marriage and is shipped off across the sea with her new husband, while on temporary release to attend her father's funeral to settle the debts he left behind. Reader doesn't have a name, but does have a background and family members.
INFO: Your parents are dead (condolences). You're American (condolences x2). You killed someone in an illegal duel at school in your final year and were sent to prison for it (you deserve it). You are not physically described beyond having hair (to have it stroked). Since prison, you have thalassophobia, a fear of squids (valid), and a fear of the dark. But you're not insane, and you definitely learned your lesson down there (didn't you?).

Severus was plating the eggs when it dawned on him—quite suddenly and enough to make him freeze, that Remus Lupin, the man he’d been living with for six months now after he’d saved Severus from the unhinged serpentine jaw of death during the Battle for Hogwarts, after he’d worked out the truth of what really happened to Dumbledore before anyone else had and, in confronting Severus when he’d been headmaster, kissed him and promised he would not let Severus die—believed Severus asexual.
Severus blinked at the eggs. They stared back at him, eyeless and indifferent, steaming silently in the quiet kitchen and utterly oblivious to the psychological crisis they had just instigated. He set the pan aside, the cast iron clinking against the countertop, and leaned forward on his elbows. He closed his eyes and massaged his temples.
How did this happen? Severus thought, and a barrage of remembered deflections when Remus had attempted to touch him over the past six months answered the call.
Ah. Right.

Summary

Though dating a junior executive who works for her boss, Petunia fears, as her boss candidly points out one summer evening, that Vernon will make her unhappy until death do they part. Trying to claw back anything to hold over her sister, Petunia hatches a plot when she meets Severus Snape on a bridge returning from the train station one night: break up Lily and her fiance and have her marry Severus instead, all so Lily won't marry before her and Petunia can lord her amazing life over her once Lily's miserable and married to Severus. Though loathing Petunia on principle, Severus agrees the best thing for Lily is to get her away from Potter--and out of the line of fire in the quickly escalating Wizarding War. Together, they put aside their differences for a common cause; one hoping to ruin Lily, and the other trying to save her, as Petunia further plots how to make the most of her life instead of merely making do as she's expected.
Lily gets everything, after all. Why should she get the happily ever after too?
