    He stepped right up to Deku and shoved his finger aggressively in the nerd’s chest, trying and mostly failing to ignore how hard and firm his pecs were. “You and me. Drinking contest. Now.”

    Deku suddenly looked awkward and a bit sheepish, and Katsuki vaguely registered the way Uraraka, Iida, and Todoroki all tensed up where they were standing nearby. “O-oh. I don’t know, K-Kacchan. That may not-”

    “Shut up!” Katsuki interrupted. “There’s no way you can outdrink me, and I’m gonna fucking prove it. Right now, let’s go.”

    “Bakugou, he’s right. You really don’t want-” Uraraka started before Katsuki shouted over her.

    “Shut it, Round Face. This is happening.” To emphasize his point, Katsuki sat down and started pouring the shots of vodka.

    Deku hesitated for just a bit longer before sighing and sitting down in the seat opposite him. “Okay, Kacchan, if you’re sure.”

    (Or: You'd never guess it by looking at him, but Izuku Midoriya could drink you under the table. Katsuki Bakugou is about to find this out the hard way.)

    After Katsuki shows up to the dorms drunk after a night spent at his mother's house, some things become extremely apparent to his classmates and teachers.
    One: Katsuki will refuse to admit anything is ever wrong.
    Two: There's something wrong with Katsuki, something very wrong, and they have no idea what it is.
    Three: Katsuki is in a violent downward spiral, and no one knows how to help.

    Katsuki always attracts the worst in his life. For as long as he can remember, nothing was ever easy and painless. This especially comes true as he starts his UA high school journey. Now he has dangerous, slippery nightmares he can't explain, a mother who seems intent on beating the villain out of him, and nosy teachers asking all of the wrong questions. To top it off, his classmates are watching him more closely than ever before.
    Katsuki isn't sure what will come first- him splintering into pieces under the pressure, or everyone learning the truth. To make it worse, he has no idea which of those options he'd prefer.

    He cuts himself off, just as Katsuki fuzzily realizes his head is pillowed on Izuku’s thigh. His thoughts come in slow like molasses.

    Izuku breathes hard. “—Under a building. We’re under the building.”

    Izuku has had this thing about him that Katsuki has never been able to name, but he's been chasing it since he learned how to run. It takes a catastrophic building collapse during their third year and a severe concussion for him to realize what it is.

    He knew three things to be true and factual:

    1. The War was over.

    2. Katsuki Bakugou couldn’t breathe.

    3. Izuku Midoriya was dead.

    Izuku was dead, Katsuki was alive (although he didn’t deserve to be), and those were facts.

    Katsuki never realized how much he needed Izuku until he was gone. Armed with knowledge of the future, Katsuki is willing to do anything to save Izuku from himself.
