Lucien survived the attempt to botch his ritual and kept his memoryWarning: this is not a nice fic. Don't go into this thinking that this is going to be nice. I haven't fully settled on an ending, but there's a good chance that it won't be a happy one. These are not nice characters. Both Lucien and Bren are evil or, at the very least, don't bat an eye at evil. This will not be a healthy relationship (consensual but not healthy). If you are looking for joy and happiness, this is not the fic for you.
Update: I settled on an ending and it's not not happy.

There is the lingering press of a kiss on Molly’s forehead when he opens his eyes. Eight pairs of eyes looking at him, and he feels empty empty empty.
Then there’s love, joy, magician, tinkerer, sea, rumor. Two others who are not yet named but are looking at him with something akin to wonder. The others accept them, and when he’s pulled into a hug he allows the gentle press of the pink one’s hand upon his shoulder, his deep “I am Caduceus Clay,” shivering through Molly, who nods in recognition.
“Empty,” he says, because it is what it is. The other one, the purple one, says nothing, but he and the magician stand close by and watch him, eyes soft.
