Summary
The American Civil War is coming to an end and Bucky Barnes and Steve Rogers are fighting off the last of the Confederates until a tragic accident separates Bucky from his unit. With no memory of who he truly is, Bucky ends up as part of The Hydra Gang, a band of ruthless outlaws who rob stagecoaches travelling North.
Pearl Montgomery is 19 and feels like her life is over. Once a wealthy Southern Belle, she now finds herself caring for her mother in a house haunted by the past. When her mother arranges a match with Officer John Walker, Pearl- still as pure and innocent as her name, takes the plunge and boards the stagecoach to Washington to marry a man she's never met.
But when the stagecoach is raided by outlaws, and she catches the eye of a dangerous stranger all in black, Pearl's life is changed forever.

Alternating pov. Smut starts in chapter 5.
Part 1 takes place before Thunderbolts* and contains no spoilers
Part 2- last few chapters take place at the beginning of Thunderbolts*
Part 3 covers the events of the movie but from Bucky/ OFC pov and then carries on after the movie.

Bucky doesn’t want a personal nurse. He’s a perfectly capable super soldier, so why is Stark assigning a medic to him? He literally has to run away from you so you won’t waste his time patching him up.
You, meanwhile, are just trying to do your damn job. You might have had some violent or uncooperative patients in the past, but Barnes has actually taken to hiding from you. It’s petty, immature, and you resent him maybe just as much as he resents you.
This might be the stupidest game of cat and mouse ever played, but both of you are determined to win. The only thing is, neither of you expected to get your aggression out so… physically.

James Buchanan Barnes is fucking over it, has PTSD, did two tours in war-torn Sokovia, lost all of his friends, drinks like it's medicine, takes a job from Zemo-of all fucking people, gets stuck babysitting Ramona Cardoso-a spoiled, reckless, insatiable menace with a sharp mouth that's nothing but a temptation wrapped in a bad fucking idea-tries really hard not let her get into his head, tries even harder not to fuck her, fails spectacularly at both, catches feelings he doesn't know what to do with, and has absolutely nothing left to lose.
TW graphic depictions of violence, lots of smut, PTSD, and abuse.
