Summary
It’s been five years since the war and magic has been growing erratic. Wands are increasingly scarce and a new illness is threatening the dragon population. Much of the Wizarding World has settled into the comfort of ordinary life, content to ignore the cracks spreading beneath their feet but there are some who have been paying closer attention.
While Draco Malfoy steeps himself in the ancient tradition of wandlore, Hermione Granger works to reform decades of neglect in the Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures. The unlikely pair converge at the edge of a mystery that grows more intricate and more intimate as it takes shape.

Summary
Draco Malfoy has been a probationary Auror for two years, even after completing the required three-year program, despite numerous attempts now to have said probationary status lifted. While his skills are an incredible asset to the DMLE, his existence is still seen as a threat by the Ministry and must be put in a leash; hence, the probation. He's going to prove once and for all that he's one of the best, if not the best, Auror the ministry can get. He is excellent with dark arts mastery and defense (why wouldn't he when he has the war to blame), CQC, and every other requirement they threw at him. All except for the one he can't seem to meet: conjuring a patronus. Lacking any useful happy memories, he decides to take a philanthropic approach. After all, helping others should evoke happy memories, right?
And, much to her anxiety, when Hermione sees a familiar tall blonde prat walking into her charity event, stating he is there to volunteer, she should have said no.
OR
Hermione helps Draco with conjuring a patronus through memories created from acts of charity, and moments meant for philanthropic attempts turn to denial of feelings and attraction.

Summary
The war is over. At least that’s what the ministry keeps insisting.
In an unprecedented move, Minister Shacklebolt has upended the surviving class of 1998 and forced them back to Hogwarts to complete their education. A “Rehabilitation Initiative” - as coined by the prophet. “A disaster waiting to happen” - if you ask anyone with half a brain.
Draco Malfoy is just trying to keep himself from landing back in Azkaban. Hermione Granger is just trying to hold herself together. And neither of them much care for the ministry’s idea of “healing”. But help will always be given at Hogwarts. Especially for those who would rather go down kicking and screaming than ask for it.
An eighth year Dramione featuring forced proximity: very very reluctant healing, a boatload (or boathouse) full of post war trauma, some very shady politics and an ensemble cast featuring Dramione’s favourite snakes. And of course, two idiots who would much rather self destruct than admit that they might just need each other.
