I leaned further over the sink, my arms locking up, shoulders drawn tight. The air came in shallow, uneven pulls, catching somewhere deep in my chest. My stomach churned again, something sour and acidic threatening to spill out everywhere. I forced myself to straighten up.
This did not mean anything. It never had, and it never would. I would make sure of that.
I washed my mouth out, spitting into the sink and finding my glasses again, running my hands through my hair to smooth it back down and breathing out, hard.
I hurled the soap dish across the room and watched the fragile glass shatter into a hundred glittering pieces on the tile.
