“He's around your age I'm pretty sure and— I'm not forcing you to be friends with him or anything.” Mane licks his lips, swallowing the lump in his throat. “But he's a nice kid. I think you'd like him too and… it would be nice knowing you had him or well- someone like him by your side through all this.”
Lomedy. Flame repeats the name in his mind. He didn't know if he was memorizing the name to actually befriend him or to purposely avoid him for the sake of annoying his brother. He didn't need Mane to be scouting out buddies for him, that's just plain embarrassing.
Maybe he'd consider it, maybe he won't.

After one specifically nasty fight lands him in court, Flame finds himself thrown into a rehabilitation center for troubled teens where he meets this stubborn kid who seems pretty adamant on trying to teach Flame how to care for plants.

It wouldn't be an understatement for Tetsurou to say he knows his body as much as he can.
So when he wakes up on a Saturday and does not feel the hangover he is supposed to be feeling after being dragged to an izakaya by his coworkers last night, he knows something is wrong immediately. When he opens his eyes and, for the first time since he was a child, everything seems big and not just big but way too fucking big, he knows something is very, very wrong.
When he pushes himself up and instead flops over and out of bed in his hurried movement and a tangle of limbs and does not feel a rough impact and instead lands on all four feet, he knows he is utterly fucked.
Four feet.
He looks down and sees two black paws.
The horrified scream that tries clawing its way out of his throat leaves him as what might have been a meow if he knew how to make that sound. Instead, it's a scratchy yowl that sounds like a cat being murdered.

Or: Instead of confessing, Tetsurou tries to get over loving Kenma by staying away from him. It backfires, and suddenly, he's living life as a cat. At Kenma's house. And with no idea how to fix this. Surely this can't get any worse. Right?

James turned, slowly, as if dragged by something heavier than guilt — something ancestral. His hands remained in the pockets of his borrowed jacket, a gesture both casual and cowardly. The streetlight above them flickered, catching the edge of his profile like a sketch someone had given up on finishing.
“That’s not what happened.”
Regulus laughed. It came out dry and scalpel-thin, a single breath honed into dismissal.
“No?” he said. “Because it felt a lot like you were pretending I didn’t exist.”
James looked at him then — really looked. Not the kind of glance you throw over your shoulder to see if the past is still chasing you, but the kind you give a painting you’ve stared at a hundred times and only just realized was about you.
“We were with my friends,” he said, as if that was a reason and not an excuse.
“And I’m not allowed to know you when they’re around? Do you have any idea what it’s like? Standing in a room and having you look through me?”
There it was — not a plea, not a break, but something far more dangerous: a mirror.
