Futaba pulls out her phone and opens the MetaNav. The troubled expression on her face disappears, replaced by mischief. “You might wanna sit down for this.” She doesn't wait for him to sit before activating the MetaNav's voice recognition. “Akechi Goro, Detective Prince."
“Candidate found.”
With the successful execution of their plan to change Niijima Sae's heart and deceive Akechi Goro, the Phantom Thieves have overcome their most dangerous obstacle yet—but one obstacle still remains. Akechi has yet to let the name of his boss and their ultimate target slip. The Thieves are at a loss for how to proceed, until one Sakura Futaba reveals a game-changing discovery that may unravel the secrets they seek.

Summary
After a few more seconds, Akira peeks up at Goro. He’s in the midst of turning his head, as though he had just been looking at Akira, as though he didn’t want to be caught doing so. Akira tempts that fate. He stares at Goro, at the way the sunlight burnishes his hair, at how his throat moves as he swallows. Goro lifts a hand and rubs it across his face and then, abruptly, he sits.
“Fine,” he says. “Let’s start the shitty day.”
The comment, grousing and grudging as it is, makes Akira smile. “That’s the spirit.”
“If you wanted spirit, you should have moved in with Yoshizawa.”
The past year hasn’t just dulled Akira’s ability to mask how he feels behind an impassive wall. He can see Goro’s comment for the slight that it is, not against Sumire, but against Goro himself.
“And yet here I am.” He reaches out then, slowly, so Goro can move away if he doesn’t want to be touched. Yet Goro doesn’t. He remains still, watching as Akira pokes him once, gently, on the forehead. “What does that tell that big brain of yours?”

“Yes,” he says, with grim resolve. “In my entire life, I have never been as sure about anything as I am about this.”
Morgana gives him a dubious stare, flicks at one ear with his paw.
“I know you guys had… some kind of an understanding,” he whispers, in what may be the *literal* understatement of the century. “Back in that other reality. But things were different there, Akira. This is the real world, and that’s a real murderer sitting across from you! You can’t just bring people home like stray dogs!”
“Why not?” Akira asks stubbornly. “It worked out fine with you.”

Summary
Akechi prided himself most on his incapacity at being surprised, at never showing his back-side no matter what befell him. A skill that became crucial to survive the lies he lived and the world he inhabited as a persona-user. Small world it seemed as he stumbled, in some mockery of a 'fated encounter', across none other than one of those pesky thieves that just appeared.
Joker was a blight in Goro's life. An arrogant show-off, determined to always have the upper hand and destroy all of Goro's plans while at it. Impossible to tolerate if it wasn't for another curious character worming their way into his life.
Akira Kurusu was - admittedly - the only good thing to have ever happened to Goro. He was an easygoing boy with a world crashing around him and a spark behind his eyes. An awareness that stood out amongst an ever growing population of fools.
In his life, being caught off guard could mean an abrupt end and unforetold consequences... Goro Akechi was in for a sour surprise.Bookmarked by sungecko
