“Hello?” he calls again. He’s kicked off his shoes now, and Soonie is watching him from the back of the couch, but Doongie and Dori–and Jisung and Sooah–are nowhere to be found. Seungmin won’t be home for a few hours yet. “It’s Mimo, Sooah! You here for a hug?”
Somewhere in the back of the house, there’s a bout of unsuppressed giggling, immediately followed by an ever louder shhh. Minho smiles and heads into the kitchen.

Jeongin huffs and goes to sit on the toilet, pushing the sharps container into Minho’s hand on the way past. “I didn’t know you owned a harness,” he manages.
Minho only shrugs as he begins to unwrap their supplies. “Haven’t needed it in a while.”
“I didn’t know you liked topping,” he says. He tries not to let it come out petulant, but he’s not sure he succeeds, especially when he catches the playful glint in Minho’s eyes.
Minho wipes his own injection site, gestures at Jeongin to do the same. “Before you,” he offers, soft and gentle like he’s trying to soothe a wild creature, “I almost exclusively topped.”

Summary
It always has to be, just enough, but not too much.
It was more acceptable when they were rookies, and the same designer items had to be re-worn by everyone in the group at one point or another, like the Brotherhood of Traveling Luxury Brand Jackets. Now that Stray Kids has hit their stride, and each member has more than enough fancy clothes whether bought or gifted, it's noticeable if any of them share.
Then it becomes a choice, more than a necessity.

“I thought his heat isn’t supposed to start until after you’re back?”
“I know. I talked to his doctor before I called you- sometimes when you’re away from your mate, it can trigger it early. Emotions get too high, distress, it throws your whole body out of balance. This is the first time we’ve really been apart since we moved in together. I think the distance and time- he’s not doing well with it. It’s not a real heat, he can’t conceive from it, but it feels the same. Hurts the same without an alpha.”
“Shit, Min. Are you coming back today, then?”
“I can’t. I tried to find a flight out but nothing that would get me there before tomorrow night at the earliest. And I couldn’t, even if I wanted to.”
“Why?”
Minho takes a deep breath, the kind he only takes when something is bothering him.
“He asked for you.”

Jisung shrugs, all too casual. “Just for fun. You know, for the bit.”
“You want us to pretend to be a couple…in therapy. Just for fun.”
“Yeah!” Jisung nods enthusiastically. "Just until the therapist figures it out.”
Minho gives him a long, slow look that suggests he is currently measuring him for a straitjacket. “So. Two sessions, max.”
It’s supposed to be a joke– two best friends and roommates walk into a therapist’s office, and pretend they’re a couple until the therapist figures it out.
But old feelings die harder than old habits, and when everything they’ve been avoiding for five years finally catches up, Minho and Jisung start to realize they may not be pretending as much as they'd like to believe.
