Summary
The Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Center, like most medical institutions, depends on money from wealthy donors when it isn’t reaching into patients’ pockets. So when doctors, who are the faces of their departments, score low on patient satisfaction surveys and rack up negative reviews online, the donors start to complain.
If the donors aren’t happy, then admin isn’t happy. And if admin isn’t happy, they go after the chiefs and attendings.
So when Gloria informs Robby that he’s going to have to go back into service and grovel in order to keep the money flowing in, Robby slips even further into crisis mode.
Appalled, Jack offers to tag along as Robby’s friend and bodyguard. However, as Robby makes his house calls, feelings deeper than friendship begin to develop between the two men.
