Kunikida wrinkles his nose. “What could you do for me? You can’t even pay rent.”
Dazai angles his face up and the man and wiggles his eyebrows. “I can do lots of things.”
Shaking his head, Kunikida huffs. “Now’s not the time for riddles, Dazai. Get up.”

Olruggio knew, long before it all came crashing down, that he’d made a terrible decision. That the consequences would catch up to him, and there’d be no avoiding a series of potentially world-ending conversations.
He just hadn’t expected it to happen quite so spectacularly.
The initial idea, prompted by a suggestion from an older noblewoman who’d commissioned him for something completely different, wasn’t bad at all. He’d been working on a set of singing stones, and the lady had made an offhanded comment about the potential of magic that could make an object resonate. She’d meant it as a joke, but where she saw humor, Olruggio saw potential—and told her as much.
And just like that, he’d had a commission. And a problem.

Utahime shook her head. "Take it off."
