I rolled my eyes again and scoffed, turning away to grab a water bottle from the counter. His words hit a nerve. Reckless? Maybe, but I only ran back into that lab to save him. Hearing the edge in his voice made my stomach twist. "I'm not some fragile rookie you need to babysit Leon. I saved your ass. say fucking thank you and move on," I spat. The look on his face when I let those words fall out of my mouth…. he was pissed. In two strides, he closed the distance and his large hand clamped around my wrist, yanking me back to face him. His face was inches from mine, his breath hot against my skin. His eyes were blazing with absolute fury and a flicker of something else that I couldn’t place. "I've had enough of your bratty mouth. It’s time you learned a fucking lesson"
