Summary
He didn't have an answer, didn't know. He had not planned this, had not planned anything of this.
It was an impulsive decision on his part, one that had gone against everything he had ever believed in, but...he did not regret it.
"You are here because... I wanted you to be," He settled on saying after a long, loaded pause. It wasn't a lie, after all. His voice was surprisingly quiet, words coming across softer than he had intended.
"...Because you are alone?"

Dazai loses a game of chess with Mori—both on and off the board. He is fifteen, and he knows what Mori wants from him. Dazai will let it happen, because it’s easier than wanting something else.
If he’s quiet, if he’s still—if he’s useful—it will be over faster. If he’s nothing, maybe he won’t feel it. Dazai tells himself it’s about survival, about usefulness, about silence. But it’s not.
He just needs it. The want is there, rotten and gruesome as a bruise. And he’ll puke it up after.

“No, when you—when you smile like that,” Gi-hun says, shuddering. “It makes me miss him.”
“Who?” In-ho asks. He can’t help it, Gi-hun always piques his curiosity. “Jung-bae sshi? Sang-woo sshi?” He uses their real names for once. After hearing some of Gi-hun’s stories on the rare occasions he felt like sharing, In-ho can't help but use their names in place of their numbers. It makes In-ho feel like he knows them, too.
He's often thought about shooting Jung-bae with shaking hands, watching the hopelessness in his eyes as he turned to face Gi-hun. But what felt like pricks of guilt then, feels like sharp pains in his chest these days. He rolls around at night, and thinks, and feels. It’s a mystery why.
In-ho looks at Gi-hun sitting in front of him, the visceral reaction to Jung-bae’s name still strong as ever.
Is it really a mystery anymore? The influence of Seong Gi-hun and the thousand souls he carries with him is quite strong.

Summary
It all started because of Muzan’s orders. Or at least that’s what Kokushibo tells himself.
Because ending up trapped in Douma’s orbit—where boundaries blur and hierarchy crumbles under casual touches and empty smiles—would be a misfortune for any demon. Especially for Kokushibo, who believed himself above such things.
But in truth, Upper Moon One had already been defeated long before he realized it.
Then, in the dark, Douma whispered:
“So… do you want to stay one more day?”
Yes. Kokushibo has lost completely.
