Summary
“You look a lot like him.” The voice doesn’t properly register at first because Ben’s too busy trying to piece together what’s happened. Everything is dim and a little hazy, somewhat like a barren wasteland; the warehouse is completely gone, and so is everyone else. Sitting up slowly, he realises that the pain is completely gone from his body, and when he presses his hand to his chest, he can’t feel the wound he knows should be there.
When he turns his head, he finds who the voice belongs to. Donned in black, pale skin and a skeletal face. And yet, despite it, there’s an alluring pull to her. She’s beautiful, she’s enrapturing, and Ben has an unsettling realisation of who she is.
“...am I dead?” He knows the answer before he even asks it.
